The 1967 Colts jump to the forefront in this discussion because they are the only 1 loss team in the history of the NFL to not make it. In fact they had 3 less losses than 2 teams that did. They just had the misfortune of being tied with the Rams that year and losing the final game of the season to them. Talk about tough luck ?Even sadder for the Colts is the fact that this was Johnny U's last "great" year as an elite QB. The following pre-season he injured his arm and had to watch Earl Morrall guide "his team" to the Super Bowl and a date with a team of destiny.
